AI Security & Agent Infrastructure Intern — Danphe RealmEngine
Research and Development · Remote · Internship · 6 – 12 Months
About Danphe Intelligence Lab
Danphe Intelligence Lab is an AI and data science research and engineering
initiative focused on developing practical technologies across artificial
intelligence, machine learning, intelligent systems, and applied research.
We are currently exploring Danphe RealmEngine, an early-stage R&D
project focused on the security and governance of AI agents operating
with access to enterprise systems.
About RealmEngine
As AI agents become capable of reasoning, retrieving information, calling
tools, and performing actions on behalf of users, traditional application
security models become increasingly difficult to apply. RealmEngine
explores a security and governance layer designed to help organizations
control how AI agents interact with sensitive enterprise systems.
The project focuses on areas including:
- AI-agent security
- LLM and prompt-injection defense
- Secure AI tool execution
- Identity-aware authorization
- Least-privilege access
- Enterprise data protection
- Agent execution monitoring
- Security policy enforcement
- AI governance and auditability
- Enterprise AI infrastructure
The long-term research direction includes applications in healthcare,
financial services, and other security-sensitive enterprise environments.
About the Internship
We are looking for technically strong and highly motivated individuals
who want to work on an early-stage research and engineering project,
rather than a conventional internship based around tutorials or
repetitive tasks.
As an intern, you may contribute to research, experimentation,
implementation, security testing, benchmarking, documentation, or
architecture depending on your technical strengths. You will work with
modern technologies across AI, cybersecurity, backend engineering,
distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
What You Could Work On
AI & LLM Security
- Researching prompt injection and indirect prompt injection
- Developing AI-agent security mechanisms
- Evaluating LLM security vulnerabilities
- Building security classification systems
- Creating adversarial test cases and benchmarking detection performance
AI Agents & Tool Security
- Studying agent and tool execution architectures
- Designing secure tool-calling mechanisms
- Exploring least-privilege authorization for AI agents
- Developing agent execution safeguards
- Researching MCP and similar agent interoperability technologies
- Detecting abnormal or runaway agent behavior
Backend & Security Engineering
- Developing APIs and middleware
- Implementing authentication and authorization (OAuth 2.0 / OIDC / JWT)
- Developing policy-driven security mechanisms
- Building distributed backend services
- Designing secure service-to-service communication
Data & Enterprise Context
- Working with PostgreSQL and vector databases
- Exploring knowledge graphs
- Developing controlled retrieval mechanisms
- Researching role-based and attribute-based access control
- Working with data provenance and enterprise context
ML Engineering
- Working with PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Experimenting with open-source LLMs
- Model inference and optimization
- Quantization and efficient inference
- QLoRA/PEFT experimentation
- Building evaluation pipelines
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Linux, Redis
- Database infrastructure
- Monitoring and observability
Technical Skills
Required — applicants should have strong practical knowledge in several of the following:
- Python
- Git/GitHub
- Linux
- REST APIs
- Backend development
- Machine learning or deep learning
- LLM fundamentals
- Cybersecurity fundamentals
- Software engineering principles
Strong Advantage — experience with:
- Go or Rust
- PyTorch / TensorFlow, Transformers, RAG
- AI agents, MCP
- OAuth 2.0 / OIDC / JWT
- Docker, Kubernetes
- PostgreSQL, Redis, Neo4j or graph databases, vector databases
- OPA / Cedar
- vLLM / llama.cpp, ONNX Runtime
- QLoRA / PEFT
- Cloud platforms

Who We're Looking For
We are particularly interested in people who:
- Enjoy solving difficult technical problems
- Can work independently
- Are comfortable learning unfamiliar technologies
- Can read technical documentation and research papers
- Think about security and failure modes
- Can write clean, maintainable code
- Investigate problems rather than simply wait for instructions
- Are comfortable with GitHub-based development
- Can communicate technical ideas clearly
- Are genuinely interested in AI security and autonomous systems
We value demonstrable ability more than certificates. A strong GitHub
profile, research project, AI project, cybersecurity project, open-source
contribution, or technical portfolio is highly valuable.
What You Will Gain
This internship is designed to provide hands-on exposure to a
multidisciplinary area at the intersection of AI, cybersecurity, AI
agents, backend engineering, and enterprise infrastructure. You may gain
practical experience in:
- AI-agent security
- LLM security
- Secure AI architecture
- Authorization and access control
- Zero-trust principles
- Policy-driven security
- Backend engineering
- Distributed systems
- ML engineering
- Cloud-native infrastructure
- Security testing
- Technical research and engineering documentation
Selected contributions may also provide material suitable for a technical
portfolio, research work, or open-source contribution where appropriate.
Internship Structure
- Work mode: 100% remote
- Location: Worldwide
- Compensation: Unpaid / project-based
- Duration: 3–6 months
- Schedule: Flexible, agreed according to project requirements
- Collaboration: GitHub, technical documentation, issue tracking, and remote meetings
This is a project-based research and engineering internship, not a paid
employment position. Applicants should consider the unpaid nature and
project commitment carefully before applying.
Application Requirements
Please submit:
- CV / Resume
- GitHub profile
- LinkedIn profile (optional)
- Relevant projects or portfolio
- Your strongest technical skills
- A short explanation of why AI security / AI agents interest you
- Your expected weekly availability
- Preferred internship duration
Application submitted via Mail will not be considered further
Selection Process
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a technical discussion and/or a
small practical assessment. We are interested in candidates who can
demonstrate:
"Build it. Test it. Break it. Understand why it failed. Make it better."
Important
RealmEngine is currently an early-stage R&D project. The internship
provides an opportunity to contribute to the exploration and development
of the technology, but specific project assignments will depend on the
candidate's skills, interests, and project requirements. Because the
project concerns security-sensitive technologies, professional conduct,
confidentiality, responsible security research, and careful handling of
project information are essential.
